Safety First Racing is Chicagoland’s premier motorcycle performance center!  We are Chicagoland’s ONLY certified Dynojet Tuning Link Center specializing in sportbike and metric cruiser dyno tuning on our Dynojet 250i dyno that has all the bells and whistles.

Our AMA level mechanics provide our customers with a meticulous work ethic and extensive knowledge base from competing at racing’s highest level.  Your motorcycle is prepared and loved on as if it was one of our own precision prepared AMA bikes.

Founded in 2003 by Kevin Hanson, Safety First Racing started out as a professional race team with Kevin fulfilling his dream of racing professionally in the AMA Pro Roadracing Series.  As the team grew and received more support from American Suzuki, Kevin assumed the team owner role and built a powerhouse of a team that was able to compete with the factory teams on much larger budgets.

When the economy meltdown hit in late 2008, Safety First Racing was left without sponsorship a month before the race season was set to begin.  Turning a negative into a positive, Kevin switched gears and changed Safety First Racing’s focus to bring that wealth of experience and knowledge to everyday street and trackday riders/racers and became a customer based shop that filled a huge void in the Chicagoland market.

Safety First Racing has been a Top 5 finishing, factory-supported Suzuki AMA roadrace team for the last 6 years.  Having tested the vast majority of products on the market under the most extreme race conditions and spending exorbitant amounts of money gaining the knowledge and expertise, we know what works and what doesn’t.  We now share that information with our customers to help them save tons of money and time from purchasing ill-performing and non-essential products.  Nobody else in the Midwest has our level of expertise and we give you HONEST feedback on products that work and don’t try and oversell you on “Bling” accessories to make a buck.
